The Alpha Kappa Chapter recently participated in the Birmingham Chapter of Leukemia Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walkathon. This walk raised money as well as awareness for those who suffer from this devastating disease. The Alpha Kappa Chapter participated by establishing a team to walk in support, which was able to raise over $750. On top of this donation, and the walkers support, members of Phi Kap volunteered to help run the event, serving by setting up much of the components of the walk, serving food to participants during the event, running the sign-in table, participating in the tear down following the event, and taking leftover food downtown to the Birmingham Homeless Shelter after the event.
